Sequestration In Seattle: Goodbye Blue Angels?

Budget Cuts May Affect Everything From Blue Angels To Hanford

An analysis by Channel Four has found that the automatic federal spending cuts that started taking effect last Friday could kill Seafair’s annual Blue Angels show, take out a lot of jobs and might slow things like Hanford nuclear waste repairs and new housing projects. The cuts will take effect gradually over the next few months.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord Issues Release On Sequestration

Joint Base Lewis-McChord says the automatic federal spending cuts could mean up to 22 furlough days for as many as eleven-thousand civilian base employees for the rest of this year, starting in mid-April. The base says furlough days would probably be Fridays. The Navy is facing a similar picture in Kitsap and Snohomish counties and on Whidbey Island.
