Ben Folds Five have reunited and are already working on their first new album in 13 years. Wednesday night Folds tweeted a photo of himself with bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee. The photo was posted with this revealing statement: “It’s happening fo sho – Day 1 in studio with Robert and Darren through March #NewBenFoldsFiveRecord.”

Welcome Back Kotter fans are mourning the loss of Robert Hegyes who played Epstein on the show in the 1970′s. Hegyes died of a heart attack at the age of 60 Thursday after suffering chest pains at his home in Metuchen, New Jersey. Hegyes was also a regular on Cagney & Lacey and was a guest star on shows including Saturday Night Live, Diagnosis Murder and The Drew Carey Show.

A nugget of fun comes our way from Van Halen’s new album, “A Different Kind Of Truth”.
It’s less than 2 weeks until the forthcoming album from Van Halen is released, so today the 90 second preview is called “Blood And Fire”. You may notice that some of the licks in the song sound vaguely familiar. The albums first release “Tattoo” was based on the unreleased song “Down In Flames”, and “She’s The Woman” was originally recorded as a demo in 1976.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse will put out a new album sometime this spring. Young dropped that bombshell at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The Godfather of Grunge revealed the first album has been recorded he and the band are already working on a second offering. Neil Young fansite Thrashers Wheat and Rolling Stone both now confirm the news. “It’s looking good,” a representative for Young says. According to the fansite report, Young shared the news during a Slamdance event with Jonathan Demme promoting their new movie Journeys. The audience “erupted in applause” when Young said that he was working with Crazy Horse again. Multiple fans quicky posted on Crazy Horse drummer Ralph Molina‘s Facebook wall asking if it was true. His response: “Yes!”
