A remorseful Hope Solo spoke to Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, and today we got a preview.
Within a few weeks of having her court case dismissed (the assault charges brought on her by her nephew and sister), she and her husband Jerramy Stevens were pulled over in the US Women’s soccer team van.
Stevens was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Hope was suspended by U.S. Soccer for 30 days and was just reinstated on Saturday. In excerpts published in advance of the interview, Solo said: “Well, clearly, I wasn’t thinking. I mean, it was a horrible choice.”
Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, U.S. women’s soccer defender Kelley O’Hara stayed in touch with Solo during the suspension.
“I was extremely happy to hear how good she was doing. It’s going to be great to have her back. She kind of completes our team, you know. It’s not the same without here there.”
Solo is on the travel roster for next month’s Algarve Cup in Portugal.
