So this actually happened: A Pennsylvania man could spend 7 years in prison for barking at a police dog.

According to WPXI, James Andrews was sitting at a drunk-driving checkpoint earlier this month and 1.) was either so drunk he thought he could actually communicate with animals, or 2.) was just really drunk. He’s accused of “barking, hissing and growling” at the K-9.  You probably wouldn’t have guessed, but that’s a felony. (And can you imagine being the officer that got to write that in a police report?) The officer should have had the dog ‘read’ Andrews his rights.

Along with those pesky DUI charges and barking at a police dog, Andrews could spend 7 years in prison.  Maybe next time, he’ll consider taking his “right to remain silent” a little more seriously.
