The Best Airport In The U.S. Is… In Kentucky?

Bigger apparently isn’t necessarily better when it comes to airports.

A British firm came out with its annual ranking of the best airports in the world and no major U.S. airports even made the top 20. The first American airport on the list is Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Confused? It’s located in Hebron, Kentucky, which is right outside Cincinnati, Ohio. So, by default that makes it the best airport in the U.S., right?

According to NPR, Cincinnati’s airport is clean, friendly and has jetways decorated with art work and a general “Midwestern charm.” (Apparently Northwestern passive aggressiveness doesn’t make an airport welcoming? Ok, fine.) Cincinnati’s airport has a welcome message recorded by the voice of the Reds, but we’ve got Sir Mix-a-lot!

Seattle-Tacoma International was all the way down at number 62. We got creamed by airports in Singapore, South Korea, Germany and Swizterland (and a whole bunch of other places.).
