On This Day In Pearl Jam History [Photos]

Being a devotee of Pearl Jam, I  love to check all those ‘This Day in Rock History’ sites and see what the band was up to. And historically, August 27th was a big one for Eddie Vedder and company.

August 27, 1991: Pearl Jam releases Ten – it was their first studio album and produced three hit singles: “Alive,” “Even Flow,” and “Jeremy.”

August 27, 1995: Pearl Jam backed up Neil Young for a performance at the Redding Festival. Young fell in love with the grunge scene and worked with PJ in 1995 for the album Mirror Ball.  Also in 1995, Eddie Vedder inducted Neil into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

August 27, 1996: Pearl Jam releases the album No Code – this was the 4th in-studio album. It premiered in the #1 spot on Billboard and featured the songs “Hail Hail” and “Who You Are.”

And for your viewing pleasure, some random Pearl Jam photos:
