The Roots and Talib Kweli are among the artists who are honoring Prince tonight at Carnegie Hall. Elvis Costello, Booker T., Bettye LaVette and Bilal are also slated to appear at Carnegie Hall’s annual fundraiser concert for music education. The concert’s organizer Michael Dorf has previously hailed Prince as “one of the most prolific songwriters.” Dorf also says Prince is one of the artists who has “truly shaped modern music.” Proceeds from the event will go to children’s music programs such as the American Symphony Orchestra’s Music Notes and Little Kids Rock.

Prince joins an all-star list of artists honored by the concert hall. In the past, the fundraiser concert has honored the Rolling Stones, R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.
