Over seven-thousand people in Chile are cleaning up after being pelted with tomatoes over the weekend. According to CBS, people in Quillon, Chile tossed nearly 44-tons of tomatoes at each over in the city’s third annual “War of the Tomato.” The event was founded by a local man named Miguel Pedreros, who was inspired by a similar festival in Bunol, Spain called La Tomatina. However, this year town officials took over the event. Apparently, all of the tomatoes were donated by local farmers who were hoping the festival would get people to buy more tomatoes.
