Let’s start with the weird trivia. The first Super Bowl was in 1970, and was actually the 4th NFL-AFL Division Championship, but the first to be called a Super Bowl. It took place at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, and TV and Broadway star Carol Channing sang (I told you it was weird). The Southern University Marching Band and a New Orleans Jazz band played at half-time, which was very cool. Go to the midpoint of this video to watch that.

Then, Up With People, the Stepford Wives of Pop Music, performed off and on throughout the early years. (No Video Necessary)

It wasn’t until 1991, that well-known acts started performing, as in The New Kids on the Block.

Before we start, let’s get the dumbest out of the way, which is also the one that wrecked radio’s relationship with the FCC forever.

DUMBEST: 2004 Justin and Janet and the Wardrobe Malfunction.
