Tacoma Native Thomas Unsure Of Kings’ Fate

Former University of Washington basketball standout Isaiah Thomas told “The Seattle Times” that he’s constantly being asked if he’s staying in Sacramento or returning to the Puget Sound area to play with the Kings if or when they move to Seattle. Thomas said all he can do is control is playing basketball until a final decision from the NBA comes. The Kings owners reached an agreement to sell the team to a Seattle ownership group earlier this week.

Huskies Fall To Beavers

(Corvallis, OR) — The Washington Huskies fell 74-66 to Oregon State Wednesday night at Gill Coliseum. C.J. Wilcox led the Huskies with 23 points and Aziz N’Diaye [[ En-Jee-eye ]] had 10 points and 10 rebounds for UW in the loss. Washington lost its second straight game and fell to 12-and-7 overall and 4-and-2 in the Pac-12. The Huskies are at number-19 Oregon Saturday night.

Cougars Come Up Short Against Ducks

(Eugene, OR) — Washington State lost a 10-point halftime lead and failed in its bid for an upset over number-19 Oregon, losing 68-61. The Cougars have lost five of six games and are 10-and-9 on the season and 1-and-5 in the Pac-12. WSU is at Oregon State on Saturday.

Gonzaga Hosts BYU Tonight

Gonzaga hopes to keep its grip on first place in the WCC with a win over BYU tonight at home. The Bulldogs are ranked number-10 with a 17-and-2 overall record including 4-and-0 in conference play. Gonzaga had an eight-game winning streak snapped at Butler last Saturday.

CenturyLink Field Named Gold Cup Soccer Venue

Seattle’s CenturyLink Field was chosen as a site for matches in international soccer’s Gold Cup tournament this summer. The home of Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders has hosted Gold Cup matches in 2005 and 2009 and was one of 13 stadium sites chosen for the July event. The Gold Cup crowns the champion of the North American soccer region and features 12 teams.
