Radiohead Playing New Songs On Tour

Thom Yorke and Radiohead are playing some new songs while touring and reworking others with entirely new arrangements to play live. Just two dates into their North American tour, Radiohead has treated audiences to something new every night.

Consequence of Sound reports on the opening night of the tour in Miami Radiohead’s 24-song set included “two new songs, Identikit and Cut A Hole, as well as the first-ever performance of the OK Computer b-side Meeting in the Aisle.” Monday night in Dallas Rock It Out Blog notes Radiohead performed “a brand new song for the first time called Skirting On The Surface which was originally performed by Thom Yorke’s side project, Atoms For Peace, during their 2009 tour. In addition to that, the band also performed the Amnesiac b-side, The Amazing Sounds of Orgy.”

SPIN reviewed the new version of Skirting On The Surface noting Thom “took to an acoustic guitar, as the band fleshed out the mid-tempo song into one of Radiohead’s signature moody, enigmatic compositions. Synths add extra gloom, while Yorke’s lofty, forlorn ‘oh-oh-oh’ makes for an even more ear-catching hook than the title phrase.”

There’s no telling if Radiohead will still be playing new stuff when the tour comes to your town. Here’s a look at all five of the new Radiohead performances, courtesy of audience members who uploaded the footage. That’s followed by a complete list of announced tour stops for 2012 including a recently added East Coast leg:
