Cee Lo Green collaborated with Dangermau5 to form Gnarls Barkley, has a burgeoning solo career, is one of the four judges on hit TV show The Voice and now will be the latest artist to take up a residency in Las Vegas. CeeLoGreen.com announced he’ll be the headliner at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood with ‘Cee Lo Green Presents LOBERACE’ for 28 shows starting in late August.
Cee Lo posted “Planet Hollywood was established by fellow artists, actors, entertainers, my peers; and they’ve proven to know a thing or two about the art of being an entrepreneur. I am very fortunate to have Planet Hollywood as a partner, allowing me to further extend and embellish on the brand that is Cee Lo Green,”
Ever the showman, Cee Lo’s post continues hawking the shows saying, “This truly unique, new show designed exclusively for Planet Hollywood will be an electrifying journey into the world of Cee Lo’s brainchild, ‘LOBERACE’.” The concept for the show was developed by Cee Lo and manager Michael “Blue” Williams. It’s described as “more of a spectacle than a show”. Cee Lo, as the conductor/ringmaster ‘LOBERACE’, “will take you on a ride through the colorful decades of music, stopping at legendary moments in time, from Prince to Blue Magic to The Rolling Stones, new wave to disco and beyond… Visually, the production will combine CeeLo’s flamboyant sense of style & over-the-top creativity, magnified and intensified, with his soulful voice covering some of his favorite music, as well as original songs.”
Cee Lo’s website promises, “Guests experiencing ‘Cee Lo Green Presents LOBERACE‘ will be transported inside the incredibly creative, eclectic mind of Cee Lo Green and into the supernatural, surreal and the extraordinary.” The pre-show hype continues online with the upcoming residency described as “part dance party, part live intimate concert, this energetic, exotic show will be as inspired and visually alive as Cee Lo Green. There will be mind-twisting magic and sexified showgirls, and the larger-than-life wardrobe and impressive stage design will out-glam and out-clever anything you’ve seen from this Muppet-ized, sequin-styled international Lady Killer to date.”
It sounds like Cee Lo and Vegas were made for each other. Until the show opens August 29th, enjoy these favorite Cee Lo Green moments:
