Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry will be appearing Friday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. They’ll be joined by Tyler’s fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson playing bass. At a recent American Idol press conference for the Television Critics Association, Tyler said Perry was “due to join him in Los Angeles this week so that they can continue working on music for the new Aerosmith album, expected later this spring.”
The interesting ‘almost Aerosmith’ line up was confirmed by Perry on Twitter:

Hennemusic reports “Joe also said he’ll be on The Tonight Show again on Monday, January 30, to help promote Amnesty International’s latest music project, Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs Of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International.
Perry recorded Dylan’s Man Of Peace for the compilation.”
@AdmiralPerry tweeted “Performing Man of Peace on Jay Leno Jan 30th for Amnesty International with some friends @RudyTanzi Paul Santo & Dave Hull.”
