OccupyMusicians.com Website Launch Supported By Tom Morello, Jello Biafra, Lou Reed, Amanda Palmer, Many More

Musicians have played and visited the many Occupy Wall Street protests, now they have a home online. OccupyMusicians.com was launched today with support from a long line of musicians including Tom Morello, Jello Biafra, Lou Reed, Amanda Palmer, Talib Kweli, Fugazi‘s Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, Laurie Anderson, Yuka Honda and the list is still growing as you read this.
The press release calls OccupyMusicians.com “a website for musicians to show solidarity with the protesters, organizers, and supporters of the Occupy movements, and to show that there is a sizable force of musicians from across every genre of music who support this movement.” The Occupy Musicians project is a mirror of the very successful work going on at Occupy Writers and Occupy Film Makers, with a similar statement.
In addition Occupy Musicians will serve as a resource to facilitate performances at Occupy spaces and events. The site plans to provide links to media wishing to interview Occupy-supporting musicians, host testimony and other writings of musicians for why they support the 99 percent, host embedded media to Occupy-related songs and music videos, and network musicians for protests and fund raisers.

Funny watching part of the 1% be shills for the 99%…..this is a pathetic idea, and just another way to help so musicians with sagging sales try and make a few bucks.

Don’t be ignorant… these musicians don’t make nearly as much money as you think. At least not enough to be considered part of the 1%. And even if they were, they can still support the movement, there is nothing wrong with that… It’s not their fault they are famous. Do you want to be a downer, or do you want Occupy to live on and be successful?
