I know everyone is as sick of Hollywood remakes as I am, but maybe its better than letting them try to be original.

When left to their own devices, the current crop of Hollywood creatives grace us with gems like these:

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a movie based on a book which probably deserves the same criticism. The book and eventually the movie will follow the plot of the original Pride and Prejudice novel, but in an alternative universe where their are Zombies. Despite what you may think, I don’t think even Zombies can make this one work.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Another novel based movie, this one retells the biography of our 16th president. The twist is while abolishing slavery he was also dispatching evil vampires. Shockingly the source comes from the same brilliant mind as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Campy? Yes. Interesting? Probably not! At least these Vampires won’t sparkle…hopefully.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
No novel to blame this one on, this is pure H0llywood. The next logical step in the story of the brother and sister’s adventure to a gingerbread house is that they become bounty hunters who kill witches. Apparently, they are holding a grudge over that whole being put in the oven thing.
