[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rush[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gary Moore[/lastfm] embarked on a joint tour back in the 1980s, and Alex Lifeson recently looked back on it fondly in memory of the former [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Thin Lizzy[/lastfm] guitarist.

“Well, we were connected in a number of ways historically,” Lifeson told in an exclusive interview.

“My recollection of him is that he was a very sweet, gentle guy – quick to smile and really a lot of fun to be with, but so absolutely passionate about the instrument and about playing.”

He continued: “It’s really sad to see somebody like him go at a young age – it really is a young age. You know, he was the type of guy that [you thought] would be around forever and ever.”

Lifeson joined Ozzy Osbourne and others in eulogizing Moore, whose untimely death has certainly reverberated throughout the rock & roll world. Share your own memories of Gary Moore and Thin Lizzy in the comments below.
