[lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm] fans were devastated for a quick minute when he announced there would be no Relapse 2. He quickly followed up with the annoucement of his 7th album “Recovery” to be released June 22nd.

“I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year,” [lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm] said today in a statement. “But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.”

Relapse dealt explicitly with [lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm]’s troubles with prescription-pill addiction, so perhaps Revcovery will show a new, more positive side of [lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm].

Not sure if this will make the album, but check out the clip of one of Eminem’s unreleased songs. Clip has been cleaned up.

  1. ‘I’m Not Afraid’ was a genius track. Recovery may be his best ever albumn. Comes out in Australia late June – can’t wait.
